These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Segmio website. They cover what you can and cannot do on the site, who owns the content, and how disputes are handled.

These Terms apply to the website at https://www.segmio.com (the “Website”), operated by Segmio SRL (“Segmio”, “we”, “us”, “our”) - a company registered in Romania. By accessing or using the Website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.

These Terms cover only the Website itself. When Segmio launches as a paid product, additional Service Terms will govern that relationship and will be presented to you at sign-up.

Play the interactive features (such as the homepage scenario sliders and the financial life game at /what-if/) for personal, non-commercial use.
Join the waitlist by submitting your email address.
Send us a message through our contact form for genuine inquiries.
Link to the Website from your own site, articles, or social posts, provided the link does not imply endorsement or affiliation.
Quote short passages of articles for non-commercial purposes with clear attribution and a link back to the original.

2. Prohibited conduct

You may not:

Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, headless browsers) to harvest content, sign up multiple emails, or abuse the waitlist form.
Attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with the Website’s security, rate limiting, or hosting infrastructure.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code beyond what is permitted by applicable law.
Use the Website to transmit malware, viruses, or any harmful code.
Use the Website in any way that violates applicable law, including data protection, consumer protection, or intellectual property law.
Misrepresent your identity or submit someone else’s email address without permission.

The “Segmio” name and logo are trademarks of Segmio SRL.

The Website contains general information about personal finance, financial planning, scenarios, and projections. This includes our articles, the homepage scenario sliders, and the financial life game.

Nothing on the Website is financial advice, investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, or accounting advice. The information is general, illustrative, and educational. The waitlist is a non-binding indication of interest. Submitting your email address:

Does not guarantee access to Segmio when it launches.
Does not create a contract or any obligation on our part.
Does not entitle you to any specific feature, pricing, or launch timeline.

We may invite waitlist members in any order, in batches, or not at all. We may close the waitlist, delay launch, or discontinue the project entirely. We may remove your email from the waitlist at our discretion, particularly in the case of suspected abuse, automation, or invalid contact details.

You can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email we send, or via our contact form.

6. Third-party links and services

The Website may link to third-party websites (for example, external articles referenced from our content). We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of those sites. Visiting them is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.

Other websites operated by Segmio SRL, such as FinancialAha, have their own terms of use and privacy policies which apply when you visit them.

The Website is delivered through Cloudflare and uses Brevo (Sendinblue) for waitlist communications. Our handling of personal data through these providers is described in our Privacy Policy.

7. Availability and disclaimer of warranties

We do our best to keep the Website available, but we provide it “as is” and “as available,” without any warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including without limitation the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade. We make no warranty that the Website will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that the information shown is accurate, complete, or current.

We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Website at any time without notice.

We may also update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be highlighted on the Website or, where appropriate, communicated by email. Continued use of the Website after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Segmio SRL, its founders, employees, contractors, and partners are not liable for:

Any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages arising out of your use of, or inability to use, the Website.
Any loss of profit, revenue, savings, data, goodwill, or opportunity.
Any decision you make in reliance on information shown on the Website.
Any unavailability, error, inaccuracy, or interruption of the Website.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Website is limited to the greater of (a) one hundred euros (€100) or (b) the amount you have paid us, if any, in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. This limit applies regardless of the legal theory on which the claim is based, even if we have been advised of the possibility of the loss.

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that consumers cannot waive under their local law.

9. Indemnification

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to hold Segmio SRL, its founders, employees, contractors, and partners harmless from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of any third-party right while using the Website.

10. Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, terrorism, civil disturbance, pandemic, government action, labor disputes, hosting or infrastructure-provider failures, or interruptions in internet or telecommunications services.

11. Time limit for claims

Any claim or cause of action arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Website must be filed within one (1) year after the claim arose, or it will be permanently barred. This time limit applies to the maximum extent permitted by applicable law and does not override any longer statutory period that cannot be waived.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Website at any time, for any reason, including for breach of these Terms. We may also remove your email from the waitlist or refuse to process a sign-up if we reasonably believe it is fraudulent, abusive, or non-compliant.

Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Intellectual Property, the Financial Information Disclaimer, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Time Limit for Claims, Governing Law, and Miscellaneous) will continue to apply after these Terms end.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Romania, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Website will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Romania.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws, you also benefit from any rights granted to you by the law of your country of residence that cannot be limited by contract.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force.

15. Miscellaneous

Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Segmio SRL regarding the Website and supersede any prior agreements or understandings on the subject.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms is not a waiver of that right or provision.

Assignment. We may assign these Terms or our rights under them, in whole or in part, to a successor entity (for example, in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets). You may not assign these Terms without our prior written consent. Any prohibited assignment is void.

No third-party beneficiaries. These Terms are for the benefit of you and Segmio SRL only and create no rights for any third party.

Notices. We may send notices to you by email (to the address you provided), by posting on the Website, or by other reasonable means. You may send notices to us via our contact form.

Headings. Section headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
